Vortec heads and emissions

I'm really interested in Vortec heads, but they don't support EGR. Does anyone know how you go about finding out exactly what your state's emissions laws are (in layman's terms)?

You are correct in saying the the vortec heads are not set up for egr, but that doesn't mean you can't run egr with vortec heads. All you need is a vortec intake manifold that has egr provisions and then supply the exshaust gases via the exhsaust system. Aluminum headed Corvettes, Camaros and 96 and later trucks with the vortec engine are this way. Hope this helps.

You'll plumb it from an exhaust manifold/header. Look on scriggins-dickey's website (sdpc2000.com), they have the PNs listed under recommended parts for the vortec heads.
