Does anyone have any ideas of raising the air cleaner up higher? I want to get a ram air box to fit under a cowl hood and I want the air cleaner assy. to fit up closer to the top of the cowl area of the hood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you remove the air silencer ring (silver thing the air cleaner assembly sits on)? Most people usually remove this to get better performance and stock hood clearance. I had to remove it to get my setup to clear the stock hood and man it barely does.

You could also try a TBI spacer from CFM-Tech, but this will require throttle body bracket adjustment. I use this 1" spacer and I love it. www.cfm-tech.com

The TBI vans used a tall spacer between the air cleaner and top of the TBI. It's just a metal ring like the short one you currently have. I think that the van ones are about 3-1/2" tall.

These stock spacers can also be stacked. Just put a gasket between each one.

That sounds something like a velocity stack. If I could find a velocity stack that would fit under my air cleaner with a mod or two that would work. I don't really want to raise the TBI up off the intake any.

Does stacking spacers do anything noticable?

Doubtful. More chance for leaks also.

Spacers?
Just random thought, dont know if it will work or knot on a TBI. But on page 203 N of jegs is a TBI power Charger for trucks. It claims to add 10 rear wheel horsepower. Then right below are some air cleaner risers. Dont know if that wil work, just an idea.
