How not to break stuff.
A buddy of mine and I are about to put a 350 into a L03 firebird.
The bottom end of the motor looks like this -
74 350 4 bolt main .040 over bore.
Stock crank, rods.
Cast flat top pistons
Comp Cams 280H
We haven't found heads as of yet but we plan on something with 58cc chambers (416s are what we are looking for but we cound end up with tpi heads) that would put compression to about 10 - 10.5 to one (the block is decked).
I beleive headers are going to go on from the get go.
For the time being we are going to keep the stock TBI, distributor, and ECM.
Aside from ultimate TBI mods what kinds of modifications do we have to make to the TBI to not run the motor so lean it breaks stuff. Eventually we would like to put a carb on the motor but for right now $ and necessity dictates TBI. Also if we get it runnign good we might keep the tbi.
also where is the best place to get larger injectors? I have tried junkyards but frankly I don't trust jy injectors.
I can get injectors for a 350 truck from autozone but they want like $80 a piece.
right now it looks like - ultimate TBI, truck injectors and hopefully a cop car chip.
any help would be appriceated. thankyou

you will definately need bigger injectors and more air. you would be better to go for big block injectors since they are about the same price. that is a lot of cam for teh stock tb/chip, even for a cop car chip. teh basic running of the motor can be doen through pressure and base timing adjustments, but teh rest will have to come from a custom burned chip.
