Idle?
now i dont know what the rest of your cars idle at but mine sits at about 1500rpm i can maintain 30 mph without my foot on the gas. id like to get it down to about 1000. do your cars idle that high or do i need to do something to mine to get the idle lower. and if so what can i do?

DAMN!!!!, something is wrong, my car idles at about 600RPMs and thats because i increased it about 100RPMs a few days ago.
Are you slightly butterflies open when you are at idle, if that is the case, you might be able to mess with the adjustment screw, if not, then there is has to be something wrong with your ECM or a sensor i would believe

might also have a vacuum leak. Take carb cleaner and spray it little by little around the engine ... if it bogs when you get to a certain area then you have a leak somewhere near there.
But like vjo said .. make sure your butterflys are closed all the way also.
if its not that then it might be something with the IAC pluger or somekinda misc. sensor or plug or ..................

Mine idled high with a decent vac leak.. but.. that's insane. As well as the carb cleaner test, look into picking up a pack of vacuum caps. Run around the engine compartment capping off each vac line and seeing if it changes the idle. I'd start with the one on the back passenger's side of the intake manifold. That one has alot of things on it notorious for leaking (like the check valve not 3" from the port, mine broke in half... AC controls, cruise, etc).
Next, the one your thermac unit plugs into on the TB. Hell.. leave that one capped.
Big vac line that runs from the evap can to the TB is one of the plastic ones prone to cracking, and it's big enough to cause that kinda high idle, though it would idle fairly poorly. (mine's missing because some non-intelligent person switched a couple fuel lines while replacing the pump and the can was siphoning gas out of the tank)
Brake booster vac line is next (can't really cap it off, just make sure it isn't leaking), and then on to all the others I can't point out offhand (if there are any others)..

i do have the open element and my thermac is disconnected, but i put a screw in the vacuum line and my iac is also kinda sittin on top of everything near the tranny dipstick. i wasnt sure where to relocate it to so i just stuck it there, should i move it somewhere else?
