Fast Idle

My car idles around 1000 - 1250 RPM's, and at times runs poorly while driving. When pressing the accelerator (while driving), sometimes it bogs or hesitates or jerks, and sometimes it gives less power the more gas you give (and at times it runs fine). The exhaust also smells really 'goofy' at times. I think the TPS is fine, it reads .5 V just sitting (havent tested all the way, but it seems alright). Could this be a problem with the IAC, and how would I check?

Also, an unrelated question, when my AC is on, the AC clutch turns on and off about every 15 seconds. There also appears to be a liquid behind the compressor. Could this cycling be caused by low (leaking) fluid in the AC system?

Thanks,

Mike

Idle could be just the typical inaccurate tach. Mine runs in the same area but is actually idling where its suppose to according to data read from the computer.

The jerky running and funky exhaust sounds like a clogged cat.

Yeah my tach is slightly off, but I used WinALDL to read it above 1000. Today it actually runs great...i dunno...
