Okay i still cant decide if i want to buy a firebird with a 350TPI or buy a 350TPI engine and install it in the car or Try to fix up the little 305.

Please help me i really like the look of the TPI but i like the ease of the TBI unit and i really want to use a supercharger.

 

You can get a supercharger for the tbi. Its really up to you what engine you want. The 305 can be made as fast or faster than a stock 350 tpi, but doing a 350 tpi engine swap will probably be less expensive than buying a 350 tpi car. I would personally go with a 350 tbi, but thats me.

 

Yeah i was thinking about buying a truck engine because most 350 trucks have a 4-bolt right which means there stronger than a 2 bolt main.Then buy a tpi system and supercharge it but then i have to get the fuel pump installed and the wirring harness.But if i were to go to the 305 i have to just buy cylinder heads and cam and manifold and thats probally just as much horsepower as a new 350.

 

Honestly unless you are making outrageous amounts of hp then a 2 bolt main will be plenty strong.

 

You're talking about deciding between modding your 305 or getting a new 350 with TPI and a supercharger, now those are two entirely different ballparks. I think you need to decide what you want to end up with when all is done. What kind of power output do you want? what kind of streetability do you want? You have to ask yourself these questions then maybe post on here I want X horsepower and X torque, what would be the cheapest/easiest/best way to attain this goal?

 

i want it to be able to use a superchrager which is both of the engines and i want it to use a tpi unit but i want the t way to get atleast 350 horsepower to the rear wheels.
