I'm thinking of putting a bb tbi on a 327, which is decently built, vortech heads, perf rpm, comp xe256, headers. I'm wondering if there is a computer I could get that would run a tbi but allow me to upload fuel/spark maps without having to change the chip? I'm in the FSAE club here at the U of S and this is how we do our tuning for our FI system, we change stuff on the fly while its running on the dyno. The engine computer just plugs right into our desktop in the shop and we tune away. Is this sort of thing available that would work with a tbi unit? Just needs fuel/spark capability, its in a 67 chev truck. Any websites I should check out? Ideas? Thanks!

<-- also on the FSAE team but at Ohio State.
Options for running TBI and real time tuning; Holley commander 950 ecu or stock GM equipment with a romulator from xtronics.
The later is the cheapest solution unless you've got money to burn. Oh yeah, and the later also lets you keep stock wiring harness which saves time BUT the commander is a trick piece of equipment. It's definatly more user friendly.

What about the Haltech ECM6GM? It's a direct plugin replacement for our ECMs and allows on the fly adjustments. I've tossed around the idea a few times about getting one for mine, but I haven't really haven't heard of anyone else how has one. I would like to hear some results and pros/cons of that unit before I make the leap.
Anyone out there have one of those units? If so, how is it and give us some details, please!
Later,
Mike

It seems like every first letter of the alphabit and the 6th letter of the aplphabit and the word that spells the Pontiac version of the f-body car is replaced with the HITHERE (me typed that one). Me thought it was my computer. Glad to see me not going crazy!!!
