Explain fuel lines to me

I am a bit dense. I am doing a carb to tbi swap. I have 2 lines from the throttle body and 2 lines along the frame. Once I replace all rubber lines with high pressure stuff and put the intank pump in, can I just hook the 2 from the frame rail to the tbi unit? Or do I have to plumb a regulator in there somewhere?

One line is supply the other is return. The regulator is built into the TBI injector pod. It's basically got the extra line inside of it going to the injectors kind of like a fuel rail with a 3 port regulator. So yes, you can just hook up the 2 lines and be ready to roll. I don't know if you're getting an actual emissions type intank pump/sending unit hanger but if you don't, you might want to ad the extra "tank vent" and the plastic filter/valve. It's hard to explain it. I've never had to deal with this issue so I'm not sure what gas tank you've got.

While you are at it, you might as well plumb in an in-line fuel pressure guage to help you with tuning. Check out this thread.

I guess you have your reasons, but I couldnt see myself going TBI on a 454. I hope your using a higher-flowing aftermarket!

Thanks for all the awesome info so far. Yes this is an emissions swap, ca smog requires TBI if I want a BB.

I didnt know there were emissions and non emissions pump assembalies. I was just putting in a factory replacement pump from autozone. Will it have the tank vent/filter valve? Will I get just the pump and need a hanger and other junk?
