Open or Single Snorkel???

I have a K&N Filter that I put in my stock intake and I am wondering if I should get an open air element. The autoshop teacher at my school said the snorkel was better because it got some cold air as opposed to more hot air. What have u guys done and what do u think???

Put on a 14x3 open element with a flat base. You won't regret it.

The snorkel gets cooler air, which is better, but the open element is much less restriction, so it breathes in more air.
I've tried single, double snorkel and open element air cleaners and Everything feels like a restriction after using the open element.
An open element with a functional cowl hood scoop is best of all.
You'll get lots of flow and cool air.
