what in the world is this?

i had some electrical troubles and i was ripping out stuff from under the hood. there was this hose in the way and i was moving it and i hear this snap. i noticed that there was this little water junction box that had 3 water lines connected to it, one came from the back of the intake, one went to the top of the rad, and i think the other went to the heater. no big deal i figured, id just pipe them together. but on top of this plastic junction box is a vaccum line. is this really important or what should i do? its a 88 tbi 305ho

it is the heater control valve. When you turn on your heater the vacuum opens the valve allowing coolant to flow through the heater core. Ill give you some instructions on how to delete it all together and just have coolant runing though the core at all time if you want......i would type it now but its too late, gotta get some sleep before class tomorrow morning at 8.
