Vaccum leak from throttle shaft?

Has anyone heard of this? This is where the mechanics traced my vacuum leak to. But the throttle body is only a little over a year old AND it never had any problems on my 305, and the vaccum leak has been there since I got the engine running.

It makes sense that air would leak through there.. but it really shouldn't be enough to effect anything unless it is a pretty large gap between the shaft and the body. the clearance should be so small that it's really not a major problem.
