no i can't, i am at work :-(

turn the engine over til #1 is at TDC and then see where the rotor is facing, that should be the #1 position, then follow the firing order around.

firing order for a sbc is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

the number one spot is usually when looking at the motor, one contact off to the right..picture a clock

its roughly the 7-8 o clock position

well i tried finding a pic for you,but i cant right now.so if yo ustill need a pic, maybe someone else can post one for you,if not ill post one later.

TDC = top dead center, which means when the number 1 cyl is at the very top of the cyl bore.

basically heres how i get the engine at TDC

simply pull the distributor cap, rotate the motor over until the timing mark lines up on your timing pointer, down on the harmonic balancer, when the marks are lined up,the rotor under the distributor cap should be pointed directly at the #1 spark plug terminal on the dissy cap.

need more help?

if you look at the engine from the front, #1 is the one right before 6 o'clock, then go clockwise with the firing order

it should be just after 6'oclock, not just before.

but your best bet is going to be to turn the engine over to TDC and line up your timing mark, and then you will KNOW where #1.

did you find #1, and the follow the firing order around, and make sure you have them all in the right order?

if so, check other things, check for bad plug wires, bad terminials on the cap, fouled plugs ect.
