64cc down to 58cc

So I have my vortec heads and I call this cylinder head shop. Says he can mill them down for me from 64cc to 58. So i head on over and he takes a look at them. Hes like so what do you want done. I called about getting the cumbustion chamber milled down to 58cc from 64. Hes like ok and how much do you want off. Im like huh. Hes like, I donno if I should take 10 or 20 or 30 off. And im hella confused at this point. And I tell him ill find out and go back. So could somebody please tell me what to tell this guy. Thanks a ton.

looks like youll ahve to figure out how much to mill down the heads in order to get the cc volume down tot eh desired ammount. Re-post this on the tech/general engine or motorswap board. There are a bunch of guys who frequent those boards who could probably tell you how to calculate/tell you how much material to remove. Surprised the machinist doesnt know but i guess not all machinists are knowlegable in cars as well.

I think the Car Craft 325hp 305 build up decked their Vortecs .030. If I can find the article, I'll let you know for sure.
