Weird Air Cleaner?!

Well recently I've been real interested in getting a Summit Open Element Air Cleaner. I just bought a K&N in my stock one-snorkel air cleaner. Today I came across something crazy....(maybe it's just cuz I'm a newbie). but I was looking at pictures of how to install a open element, and it seems that I'm missing a vacuum hose to the bottom of the air cleaner? I had no idea that there was supposed to be one there. Everytime I pull the air cleaner off, all I do is unhook the hose to the throttle body & metal pipe to the manifold. There is a hole under my air cleaner that looks like that's where the vacuum hose is supposed to go. I searched thoroughly for a vacuum hose lying around but I found nothing. Supposedly there's something called an IAT that's supposed to be there too???? What does this mean for me? Thanks for your help

I don't remember having a vac line under my stock aircleaner. Ill go look and see what it has. OOOO ok.

Yeah that doesnt go to anything dont worry. Get a flat base open element 14x3''. Put that in. Take the IAC sensor from the intake and drill a hole in the new base and install the sensor there.

I did that with good results.

IAC ????

the sensor in the air cleaner housing is the MAT sensor (Air temp). you don't 'have' to locate that there, you can zip tie it to the cowl, out of the way if you want, and it will still work just fine.

also, just vacume line runs to the termac IIRC, you need to plug that port on the throttle body or else you won't like the results

That is not the IAC in the air breather, it is a MAT sensor. The IAC is in the TB itself.

LOL!! DOH!! You beat me to it Dewey. LOL!!!
