open element--PLEASE rEAD

HEY GUYS, JUST PUT THE OPEN ELEMENT ON ADN I HAVE ABOUT A HALF AN INCH BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR CLEANER AND THE COIL WIRE BOOT...IS THAT SUFFICIENT ENOUGH SPACE???
---also, for the breather on the driver's side (it is connected to the tbi) can i just use a normal breather in there (with out using that tube) and just cap the thing at the tbi???

1/2" is plenty of room mine was on it so i just wrapped it in electrical tape to keep it from sitting on it. and the breather can be replaced or u can just leave it off to the side like it shows in the tech artical for the open element mod.

thanks for the feedback on the room guys....but...i was wondering about the DRIVERSIDE breather. i already replaced the passenger side with a MR. Gasket piece. for the DRIVERSIDE, can i take that rubber hosing off and cap the outlet on the TBI and use another normal breather?
