what kinda #'s

Hey guys here is a list of the mods I'm planning on. I was wondering if anybody had any idea what my hp #'s might be.

I will take it to the dyno once I am done.

1991 305 w/168,000miles
#416 heads ported and polished three angle valve job and 1.94 valves.
1.6 RR / Lt1 springs
Lt1 cam
Ult. Tbi
edelbroc TBI intake
headers with a catco cat and 3" cat-back
This is about it providing when I get the heads off the cyl. walls look okay. I have a 350 that will probably go in this winter but the car needs a valvejob now so I might as well help it out a little.
My goal I guess would be to be somewhere around 250 at the rear wheels. I'm just not sure if I have enough here or not. Any suggestions as how to improve on this would also be greatly appreciated.

not a bad combo, but may i suggest some changes.

since the 416s are the pre 86 bolt style, screw the TBI manifold, it is marginal at best. get a good 4bbl intake and adaptor plate, it will be cheap, and have much better performance.

also, if $$$ is an issue, go with the lt1 cam, but if you can spend the money, call compcams, and have them pick you a cam for your application.

i have hooker 2055's catco 3" cat, and flowmaster catback, i like it

Thanks Dewey, I have been debating on the intake. Seems alot of guys are running the 4bbl intake just wasn't sure if that is where I wanted to go.
I will call compcams I however already have the LT1 cam on hand.
Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention gonna get a custom chip also.

I was also wondering about the tbi spacer. If the 4bbl intake is used with a tbi adapter would a spacer also be neccesary. Or would that get the tbi up high enough to effecta differance. Then there is that whole hood clearance thing. I have the stock rs hood on it and don't plan on changing for a while.
Thanks Scoty

the adaptor is a spacer, on a stock hood i doubt both would fit. with the much larger plenum volume on the 4bbl intakes, you shouldn't need the spacer anyway.

Well, you probably don't wanna hear this then...........

Looks like you'll probably be around 200 at the rear wheels if you have an automatic tranny. Your setup should be about 275hp at the flywheel, but the 700r4 hogs HP up. You might be higher or lower, I really doubt higher thou.

That tired ole 305 isn't gonna pull the numbers like you want it too.

rscamaroguy,
Yeah you're probably right. I had an idea 250 at the wheels was optimistic, however even 200 at the wheels is better than 170 at the flywheel.

For no more than I'm gonna be spending on parts, though I will be happy with whatever I get.

The reason behind this thread, I wasn't sure realistically where I would be. I kinda figured maybe somewhere between 200 and 250 at the wheels. I'll wait and see.

I will take it to the dyno once it is put together, son't figure there is any reason to before hand.
