1/4 inch injector pod spacer?

this helps high end correct?

can i just achieve this by using 3 injector pod gaskets?
i stuck 2 on earlier today after the injector install to raise it up a lil.
no noticable diff.

someone on here makes them but im not sure who, and if they are good. Or if using a spacer at all is worth it. the tbi adapter plate for my performer manifold lifts the tbi up 1/2 inch as it is.

however id like a lil more clearance for the air cleaner, the adapter sat the tbi BACK one inch towards the dist and the sucker is literally touching the plug wires....i put electric tape around it to insure the spark not jumping to the drop in air cleaner...

You want to raise the injector tower up just enough so that the spray pattern barely hits the edges of the bore where the throttle blades are. Going any farther is pointless.

when you lift the injectors above the housing 1/4 inch is about all that you can get away with.... any more and you might spray a little bit of fuel on the throttle bores... which would then run down the bores ... NOT BEING SPRAYED.... therefore, hurting more than helping... I have a 1/4 inch injector spacer and ultimate TBI mods... and it was a noticable difference... I have bigger injectors and I use the set-up to feed a 330 HP small block... It helps, you may not be able to actually notice with JUST the spacer.,, but it really does help... I got mine on e-bay for $9...

Did you guys use gaskets on both sides of the spacer?
Those are some thick gaskets LOL, I could see it making a
huge difference.

my gaskets were like...paper thin....weird....well not really paper thin...just not thich..id have to use about 6 of these o get 1/4 of n inch .....i still have no clue as to wtf lb the injectors i have are.

i got them from borg and warner and cross referenced the part # with napa, ...and supposedly got 65 lb injectors. but when i emailed borg n warner to cofirm this they replied "we dont sell high performance injectors" im like...you fool....65 lbs injectors arent high performance.....high performance means FLOW matched.......some people are morons.

so i still dont know wtf lb these brand new injectors are....so screw it, im running them anyways lmao

FYI, you can get an injector pod spacer from T & T Performance for $14.95 + shipping at 1-888-291-6599. They also sell them on ebay and you can possibly get them a little cheaper that way...here's a link to a current auction:

As an aside, for those of you thinking of going with a 454 TBI, these throttle bodies have a 1/4" injector pod spacer on them from the factory and they don't even have the ridges around the bores like a 305 TBI does. In other words, the only "Ultimate TBI" mod you can do to it is to shave the throttle shaft. I decided to go ahead and polish the venturis leading up to the throttle bores since they had a rough cast finish, but that's about it.
