Any TBI guy go to Stealth Ram out there?
I was looking into the Stealth Ram, and found it to be very interesting. I want one, anyone else with a TBI put one on? You have to buy the WHOLE $2,800 unit, or the cheap pieces for like 800? Also, would you need to change the wiring harness too? I would assume so. Also, I posted a article that GMHighTech Performance did on the HSR, it was WAYYY better than a boldly modded TPI, so don't try and talk me out of it. LOL. Any info would be nice guys. Thanks

stealth ram is awesome, and not necessarily costing 2,800.00
when you buy the whole setup, it comes with the holley commander ecm. you're not married to that.
the tbi computer won't work, it can only control 2 injectors. you could, however, use a tpi ecm. it would be cheap, but you'd have to burn your own chips to tune it. if you have the patience and know-how, you can save a lot of money going this way.
if i were going to use an aftermarket ecm, i'd go with the gen 7 dfi over the holley commander, anyway. the precision and tunability of that unit is awesome.
the biggest drawback to stealth ram is emissions. they literally took a 30 year old tunnel ram base design and put a new plenum on it. there's no way to make your egr functional. i spoke to holley. they said there are currently no plans to make an emissions legal stealth ram.

Emissions isn't a problem, I already got rid of my smog/cat system and am thinking about getting rid of the A/C. So, your saying that I can get the pieced system for about $800 if I use a TPI wiring harness and ECM, right? I already burn my own chips for my TBI, so I'll just have to learn the TPI system too, no biggie. Thanks
When I made the swap I used a harness form a 91 350 TPI camaro. I would not by that whole kit, you can get what you need for the swap way cheaper. Here’s what I did
Stealth Ram manifold/ AFPR/ fuel rails: $480 with discount. Thunder Racing
Holley fuel pump: $155 thunder racing.
Ford 30 pound injectors: $150 Ebay, but you can find way cheaper smaller injectors ~$30
Speed density ECM/Harness: $120 thirdgen.org classifieds
Stock 48mm throttle body: $30 thirdgen.org classifieds.
Throttle cable/bracket: $0 got from a friend.
Intake $20 thirdgen.org classifieds.

With that MPH you could hit mid-low 12's using your current setup.
PK over at nethirdgen is running 12.1 or so at 111mph.
Just curious, what are your 60ft times?

Well, actually, I usually only get about a 1.8 60' My current setup has too much low end to get a good 60' I pick up my MPH at about 1/8mi to 1200ft marker, that's where I get all my power. With the stealth ram properly tuned, I think I could pull mid 11's. but I don't like to be too optimistic so I set my sights on low 12's.
This way I wont be disappointed
