230, maybe 250HP or so if your lucky. That essentially looks like what i have, except i have a gmgoodwrench knockoff of the 70's two piece motors. I wouldnt waste any time on a chip unless your concerned about getting the best possible fuel economy. Mine does ok w/ the stock chip and 65 pph injectors since the power band is essentially an expanded version of the l03's. More power and torque, but generally the same shape.

hey dimented thanks for the input! do you think my 50lb injectors will do or should i play with the pressure a little when i get i t running? So you are running your stock 305 chip thats surprising i would have thought with a cam and stuff that you have to change ur chip, this is my everyday driver so i want to drop the motor and have it run with no major problems, and like i said earlier the tbi chip on tbichips.com is 30.00 for a cop car caprice with 65lb injectors! So maybe i should just try my luck on it, what do you think!!!! Thanks for your input man!!!!

the real factor to look at is the cam duration and lobe seperation. those are what is really going to determine how much computer tuning will need to be done.
for $30 i would get a custom chip. but *I* think tuning it yourself is always a better way to go, spend $150 and burn to your hearts content. you will get a much better tune, make more power, and get better milage. it isn't that hard to learn how to do it, just read , read , read, and read some more, then get out and start tweaking with things, you can pick it up pretty quickly.

tbichips.com will custom burn i think, try e-mailing him.
like i said, the lift that you keep telling us, isn't what is really going to determine how computer freiendly the cam is, it is the duration.

the advertised duration for the cam 264*- 274*, but tbi he tells you the software to use but does not burn them custom so idn like i said i will probably try my hand at the cop car caprice chip!!!!!!!!!

its a flat tappet so im guessing thats around 205/215 @ .05 in lift. I was considering getting a similar one from crane, as well as the xe one from comp cams but decided on the edelbrock one because it has a more lazy ramp profile which probably flies better with the garbage valvetrain i have. A chip from tbichips would probably work but you should still consider dropping $200, getting the equipement, and doing it yourself. Youll never know what youll want to do with the car later on. The only complaint i have with mine is the fact that it runs realll rich at idle. When i finally get all the other stuff out of the way, im gonna go purchase the prom burning equipment and fix that.

see the tech articles on what to get. Most say that tuner C.A.T.S. is the best software out there but its a little pricey and you have to pay $20 for each ecm definition file, which reminds me that i still have to find out which ecm i have.
