I can't make a header decision.

I think I'm just indecisive, but I really have no idea which header I want.

At first, I was just going to go with the SLP's, but then read things about their fitmant, and the fact that they are so freakin' expensive it's ridiculous.

Then I was leaning towards the Hooker 2055's from Jet-Hot for $620. But now I'm kind of leaning back towards the Edelbrocks. From Jegs they're only $440 ceramic coated.

I don't know what's wrong with me on this. I've got almost all my crap together for a 350 swap, with the exception of the headers.

I need some advice on this.

i haven't used all three, but i have looked at all 3, the SLPs i have seen look really good, but i have heard that the new ones quality is less that great. the edelbrocks with A.i.R. have the air tubes sticking way down into the ports, and the Y pipe is not that great.

so i went with the hookers, i got mine from jet-hot for under $500.

How come the hedman headers arent in your selection they have 1 5/8 primaries and the collector is 2.5 inches and the y pipe is 3 inches and it has air tubes.

i woudl probably get the hedmans over the edelbrocks, but i have also heard from a good mechanic friend of mine, that the hedman Y pipe is not very good.

Does Summit or Jegs even sell the Hedman's ceramic coated? If not, then that about another $50 or so in shipment fees to and from Jet-Hot.

And what about the Hedman y-pipe?

pending on how far you plan on going, get SLPs or Hookers. Most ppl love the hooker 2055's but they dont come without air tubes. Then with the SLP's, some ppl had to dent in a primary to clear the steering shaft. Not everybody has to though, it prolly has something to do with motor mount condition. To tell you the truth i find it much more appealing making a small dent rather than having to weld off air tubes. If you are runing AIR though definately get the hooker 2055's....everything else is just not as good

Ya I have the Edelbrocks...and I am not a big fan of them....fitment isnt all that great, plus they just look/feel cheep to me, and the y-pipe isnt all that great...already starting to corrode a good bit and I dont even drive the thing all that much........I hope to be switching to something else in the next 6 months or so.

Just make sure you get stage 8 bolts with allen heads in them for the headers. Its near impossible to access 2 bolts on the pass. side without them.

im runnin the slp 1 5/8 headers and y pipe......i love them they perform and look great. i had a cutout installed after my y pipe the same time i had the headers and y pipe installed. guess what......the cutout is rusting but the headers and y pipe are not.....and they are not coated. slp makes quality stuff. just my personal experience.

I would do eather the slp or hooker. SLP has stanless so if you scrach the coating it still wont rust. Hookers look really nice too though.

I dont think it's a ceramic coating on the eldelbrooks for $400 i think it's nickel make sure it's ceramic cause thats the only way to go.

Motor mounts wont help with the slp i didnt have to dent mine much and i dont think i lost any power from it. I think the stearing shaft problem is only with the 1 3/4 inch ones not the 1 5/8.

Hooker only comes in 1 5/8.

Another person who says the 2055's are $500? Why was I quoted for $620? Cali92RS: Did you get a group or pair purchase price as well?

jet hot is very weird. You could call 5 different times and get different prices varying over $100!!!!!! Just call a bunch of times until you get a good deal, lol.
