track time's now suggestions
I ran 2 runs at route 66 before test and tune was over. but I ran slower times than I was shooting for
It was my first time ever at the track so I can improve my R/T's a bit. I plan on doing the ultimate mods over the winter so is it possible for .5 off the E.T. by the ultimate mods alone? The only thing I have done is TPI headers and full 3 inch exhaust with dynomaxe high flow cat. My dad was saying that I should be almost at redline when I cross the 1/4 mile point I was at 3000 RPM's in D not overdrive. So should I get a posi with 3.73's to get the times down a bit? I plan to get heads, cam, intake and either the holly 670 or 350ci injectors not sure whats better injector wise? My car has 82k on the od and doesnt burn/leak anything so I was mad to see the E.T.'s with the exhaust. But I found out my G-tech is .3 off in the 1/4 mile. So right now leaning towards the rear end, should I get a Torque converter or after the engine mods? Any Input would be great thanks in advace. I also have a stage 2 chip by tbichips.com(not installed) and stated that I had exhaust and he would tune for that but need to get into burning my own proms, also 1 inch TB spacer (not installed).
1st run
R/T .341
60' 2.385
330 6.890
1/8 10.595
MPH 66.65
1000 13.794
1/4 16.536
MPH 81.81
2nd run
R/T .584
60' 2.429
330 6.901
1/8 10.564
MPH 68.71
1000 13.737

Dude what is your exact setup , engine, computer, etc. No i dont think you will get .5 seconds from ultimate tbi mods, I doubt anyone here has got .2 seconds from them , you could probably get a good .5 seconds with a good carb intake w/ a 2'' bore tbi adapter plate and a holley 670 combined, But I think the holley 670 is to much for an almost stock 305.

Current setup TPI headers, dynomax cat 3 inch flowmaster cat-back other than that stock. I have a stage 2 chip, 1 inch TB spacer that both havent been installed yet, other than that STOCK!!
Future plans heads (world torquer 58cc) cam (not sure yet) Intake (holly tbi or open to other idea's) and either the holly 670cfm OR 350ci injectors. I want to do the rearend first to see if I can knock off on the E.T.'s

Alright I take it you still have the stock air cleaner , You should getn an open element one, remember to drill a whole it the new one for your air temp sensor that goes in the bottom of the air cleaner, I really wouldnt recomend getting the gears yet, you really dont want to get them until you have enough mods that they will be able to take advantage of.I have heard nothing but bad reviews from the holley pro jection manifold, but there isnt much selection, you could get a performer manifold , but its about the same as the holley performence wise, all the manifolds that are good(such as performer RPM, and all the air gap manfolds) either dont have egr or wont fit under your hood . I dont know much about modding a 305 or parts that pass emission seeing as how I have a 350 and no emissions equipment what so ever. I would get the performer intake and do the ultamate tbi mods if I were you.Other than that just make sure your car is in perfect tune, and work on your driving , the times your running look about like the stock times so you definetly need to work on your driving, no one gets the perfect times out of there car the first couple runs they have ever run.

you might want to manually shift the car if it is shifting too early, i shift at about 5200RPMs with the mods in my sig. Your next mod should be gears, either 3.42s or 3.73s, i went with 3.73s and love em. I am currently running a tbichips stage 1 chip and 8* advance. I was going to throw the stage 2 in but it is recommended to use stock base timing when using the chip (0*).
