hi all and thant you all for this great site and i would like to know .
i have a Z71 305 tbi engine with msd 6a on it what other mods i can do for it simple mods and cheap and can i install the 454 Throttle Body and Injector on the 305 engine so i can add more fuel and for the LT1 cam can i install it direct to the 305 or do i have to change some things with it like the computer or the heads .

the cam will work but you will definately have to do some computer/chip tuning to get it to run right.

 

You need lots of fuel (high volume pump) and tons of tuning with any cam combo on this motor. You also need full exhaust and a good intake to unchoke the new power. Although the cam just "slide in" there are many other parameters you need to consider. Springs, fuel, tuning, exhaust? The list goes on. The 454 TBi will bolt on to your stock intake but it has larger bores than stock (2" compared to 1 11/16"). You will need to get your stock intake bores out or go with a carb intake with a TBi adapter. If you use the search command at the top right of your screen you can find answers to all of these things that i mentioned. Welcome aboard, and happy modding.

 

wait a second, this is the truck motor correct? does it have provisions for a roller cam, i though the trucks were flat tappet. even if it does have the provisions for a spider for the rollers, he will need new lifters, retainers and the spider.

 

I MISED THE Z71 PART... AND I HAVE BEEN RUNNING MINE WITH STOCK SPRINGS STILL WITH NO PROBLEMS i drove all the way to ga from va and back again with no problems i just don't go above 5000 rpms.
