Make sure your car is at operating temp and then turn it off. You have to unplug the ETS on the passenger side of the car right behind the strut mount. It is a little black connector with a tan wire. After you unplug it turn your car back on. Lossen the distributor bolt and turn it counterclockwise unitl the light reads the desired advanced on the timing tab. After that, turn the car off, plug the ETS back in and restart your car. If you hear pinging when you drive around you need to repeat the process and back some timing out. For stock LO3's 2-6 degrees advanced seems to be the norm. I run 4 degrees with premium fuel and do not have any knock at all. I do have knock with 6 degrees though. Some guys can run as much as 8 but it is rare.
