I had recently moved from Calgary AB to Barrie Ontario. The elevation at Calgary is 3500ft.

A little car info: 88 IROC 305 TBI/auto 2.73

Best stock time was a 17.0@80mph (at Calgary)
After the trans was rebuilt with a 4.3L V6 stall, corvette servo and trans-go shift kit and open air element:

16.7@80-81mph

I raced at Toronto Motor Sports park (600ft) but it musta been awful air conditon. It only ran a 16.3. Iwas expecting much better.

Fastforward to last week. Went to St Thomas Dragway.
And it went 15.99@84.5
On a slower pass it did 86.5mph!

Considering the motor is all stock--thats not terrible.

I was pretty happy to see the 0.8 correction factor from Calgary.
Thats what the NHRA website said and now I know it is true.
Means my ex 87 Players challenge car was 14.5 car--305 to boot.

 

good deal, those times are about on par with stock TBI cars.

14.5 sounds descent for an ex players cup car, i know a couple of guys who have them, and they are mid-low 14 sec cars. those balanced 305's that they got are pretty nice little motors, eh.
