I been seeing a lot of stuff about using the '93-'95 truck ECM's because there so much faster and allow for more info. What do any of ya know about this? If possible this sounds like some thing I'd like to do. Anyone with with any knowledge of this fill me in. I think it should be possible since the trucks had 305 and 350 TBI these years.

Well, I think it is a more common truck mod. I don't know of anybody that had a 8746 f-body or caprice ecm and has swapped over to the '93-'95 truck ecm.
I think va454ss is planning on doing it. He also mentioned a hack which allows the charts in the chip to go to 6,500rpm. I believe he has the 7747 ecm right now, I wouldn't imagine it being too different to swap from an 8746 ecm. Anyways, he's the man to talk to

I thought about doing it a few years ago but there are a lot of obsticles that don't justify the upgrade. First is the lack of information on the WHOLE pcm code. There are lots of issues when running a truck computer on a lighter higher hp vehicle. The only advantage would be the faster baud aldl and the trans controls. I bet you could get it to work without much hassle, I just think it's not worth it. It might be if you already had the 4L60e .
