89 LO3 small Q's

Ok first off, this car is from Chicago and rigged like a mother. All the vacuum lines were in the wronf spots, I drove it 1/2 way home before it died. I was going 55 and then I heard this loud sound like air from a compressor. Anyway I got it towed and I stared puting things where they really go and I am missing a few little things. Right between the charcoal canister and the coolant reservoir there are small vacuum lines that are coming off of a 'T', where do they go? Also, I cannot find the connector that goes to the air cleaner assembly, where in the engine bay is it routed? Also I was wondering of anyone has pictures of a stock LO3 so I can make sure all of my stuff is where it goes. Gotta get this baby running before the full tank of gas goes bad. Just an FYI, I'm only using the crappy engine until I can afford my LT1!:lala:
Thanks for the help!

I'm not really sure what you are describing but I'm no expert either, I do have a stock LO3 and I am planning to snap a few shots by this weekend before I start tearing into it and I'll post them for you if no one else has.

i think the vacume line T you are describing is for the cruise control.

not sure abotu the rest, maybe be more descriptive, or snap some photos of what you have.

The other thing I was talking about is the plug for the sensor in the bottom of the air cleaner. I can;t find taht plug and none of my wires in my harness are cut. Another question. The tube that runs from the MAF to the TB is that supposed to be like 1/4 inch? It goes into the hole on the TB instead of over, like the others in the front og the TB? Just want to check. What does the cruise control module look like so I can hook that up. There is one thing on the passenger side that looks like a black EGR with a little hole on the top, what the heck goes there? Thanks again, sorry to ask so many questions, but my seached haven't helped much. LAter!

Sounds like you just need to buy a repair manual. The kind that has all the schematics in it. I know everyone here will try to help you as much as they can but somethings are easier to understand when you have a schematic to look at. Hope you get it running good soon.

Alright let me see if I can help. The T in the vaccum line: one goes to a spherical canister which should be just in front of the driver's side wheel, the other end goes to the cruise control which is a large diaphram shaped thing just next to the radiator on that side of the car. As far as the connector for the IAT, it comes out of the wiring harness on the passenger side runing over the intake manifold, it can fall down behind the AIR equiment and get 'lost', mine did.

Thanks for helping out guys. I actually have a Haynes manual and the factory service manual, but those kind of things are not in there. I also have the emissions schematics, but those are also not on there. i found that one part of the T is connected to the firewall and the other is not connected at all, almost looks like it was toen off. I'm gonna check the one next to the radiator though, but i think that one is alredy connected too. Thanks again for the help!

Well I fixed 2 problems, turns out the compressor sound that I heard on the way home was major blow-by. 3 of the sparkplugs were barely in, I turned them maybr 1/4" and they came out. I bought some Champion Platinums I'm putting in tomorrow. I also got all of the vacuum wires fixed but one. Only problem I have left is a fuel issue. Facing the car just to the left of the brake booster is a 1" metal pipe that screws into another piece that leads to other metal pipes. Half of the threads are broken off of the stationary piece so I have to figure out how to fix that. 1 more week and she should be running! Thanks to everone for help, I'm sure I'll be back real soon with more questions!
