Some oem quality rocker arms would help it pull a little harder. I think Pace sells some 1.6:1 for like $48 plus shipping....not too bad. Um......other than that making a L03 fast is pretty expensive. Trust me, I would know.....got beat by an Altima!!!!

Start with the free mods like ultimate TBI and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Than bump your timing up a few notches and get an open air element. All of that combined should cost you less than 25 bucks and could yield you up to 10hp. There are tech articles for everything that I mentioned. You then want to move onto mods that will give you more power. You want to start with a new exhaust and a set of headers and a high flow cat, or no cat if you do not have emmisions. Just doing the open air element, timing and ultimate TBI mods will put a bigger smile on your face.

Open air element. At least you'll have a louder exhaust note. Cost less then $25.00.

I've read good things about underdriving pully's. This can be had for under $70 and if you dont have to worry about emmissions you could get rid of the AIR pump as well. Alleged 20-30 hp, but i dont know for a fact. there was a thread on here about it a while back.

I'd skip the underdrive pulleys, most guys on here that have them have said they haven't seen much of a gain. Do the ultimate TBI mods, open air element, bump timing some, and then skip the pulleys and save for full exhaust. 1 5/8" headers into a full 3" exhaust setup along with 3" high flow cat or straight pipe depending on emissions requirements.

well i had/have a TBI like you do and i was opting for a LT1 like you, well i have my LT1, partly because i was patient and wasted NO money on mods to my TBI, really there is no reason to go any further on your TBI than exhaust and free mods if your just getting rid of it... i didn't even get an open element, just save save save, that LT1 will be worth it! IT IS SOOO DAMN SWEET!!!! the other part of why i have the LT1 is because i sold some things off to get it! although above i mention myself being patient, i'm really not that patient
... but you should definately check out those Ultimate TBIs like i said b4, and go with 3in exhaust because you will be able to use that with a LT1 and 3in is plenty for a stock to mildly modded LT1

yea im not lookin to spend all that much, my buddie has a edelbrock cleaner and houseing im gettin for 15 bux from him and then the free mods and prolly the 3in exhaust. how much would that cost? i can either drop a 350 out of a 80s van for free and get the LT1 heads and intake cuz the 350 would be free or just buy a full LT1 and drop it in, would like LS1 but thats more expensive. thanx for all the help.

yea i guess it might be worth it for 15 bux, the LS1 is a totally different engine and MUCH harder and more compcated of a swap. A 350 TPI has a different design than the LT1, so just research the engines and figure which one you want, you could just clean up that free 350 and sell it or throw it in your car, it is your choice, i went LT1, but i didnt have that choice to make

If you're looking at a 350 out of an 80's van you can't go LT1 or at least shouldn't. LT1 engines are reverse flow and an 80's block would take a lot of modification to use LT1 heads on it. So either go with the 80's block and other heads or if you really want LT1 go full LT1 engine.

ton of info on the pulleys, all looks good. CHP got 17rwhp by underdriving.
If you've got the time and money to swap in a lt1 i would save every penny i could until i could afford that engine. I have to believe that you would want that lt1 asap, point being count the pennys in your ashtray, roll em up and put them in the bank, b/c thats $.50 closer to lt1!
