Car run Again, Finally after 2 years
Got the Camaro started up yesterday, and got it running smooth this afternoon. I thought this day would never come, after two years of the car setting up and then replacing a fuel pump, flexplate, convertor, valve seals, trans mount, ignition modgule, the ultimate TBI mods, one new injector, plugs & wires, PVC valve, oil and filter change, fuel filter and tons of engine cleaning and painting.
I've yet to drive it though. Still got to get a open element air cleaner(I'm tired of the factory with a Edelnbrock top,I even lost it), a TBI fuel pressure gauge, more trans fluid( I'm using B&M Trick Flow and its $3.99 a qt), a cable for my laptop to run WinALDL(so I can see the O2 sensor volts to adjust fuel pressure) and my Flowmaster exhaust welded back up since I had to cut it down to remove the fuel tank, to eleimate the in-tank pump. I getting a 3-wire heated O2 sensor too.
Does anyone know what the O2 sensor's volts should be at when I start adjusting the fuel regulator? Also what pressure does most of ya use? I think I've got this right, I adjust the fuel pressure until the O2 sensors volts reach a certian volt, then that means I'm running at the proper A/F ratio? I've got a Holley Blue Pump thats rated a 14lb psi. I can get a spring to add about 18 to 20 more lbs psi. If someone would give me some tips on this it would be real nice. Thanks, Bobby

Oh, the new motor is not ready yet. I'm still waiting on the rods to come. The crank and main cap studs are all thats came so for. I'm still not sure on the pistons yet, I know I want Speed-Pro's with anywhere from 10:1 to 10.5:1 compression with 64cc heads. I called Speed-Pro and they gave me a part# then I talked to Soggin-Dickey Parts Center and there tring to give me a piston with 9.7:1 compression. So I've got to get that straightened out first. I just got the factory 305ci back to running now, but the 388ci is coming along, just not fast enough.
Come on ya someone help me out on this fuel pressure and O2 sensor volt thing. Please!!Thanks, Bobby
