Installed Edelbrock Performer Carb 3706 Manifold

Just wanted to pat myself on the back for installing the 3706 Carb manifold, it was a slight pain in the ***, but only because I tend to overcomplicate stuff. I already wrote a "tech article" but the server ate it so I'll be writing another thingy on the little intricacies that come with installing this manifold. Seems to work great, haven't G-teched it yet. It feels faster, but still slow, but then again I've been driving my roomy's 13.4-running 2000 Z28...can't wait for the nitrous to smoke his *** .

What were some of the pains? Also what adapter plate did you go with. Anything else that you had to modify? Any pics?

I just Tazzo'd it today. It pulled 91.7 MPH with a 2.43 60' but the E/T didn't show

I spun really really bad, my sixty foots are normally in the low 2.1 range. The engine was running hot, the O2 sensor was maxed out on rich (I need to turn down the FP) and it hesitates around 4400 (possibly too much timing). I'm going to lower the FP, take out 2* and see what it does. 91.7 is good enough for a 14.8 but we'll see, it still needs a lot of tuning. I'm still kinda puzzled where to shift it at

hey tony, great article. very informative.

one question. when discussing the fuel pressure gauge, you said: "This is also a good time to put a fuel pressure gauge in. The TBI cars aren’t equipped with a Schrader valve from the factory, so parts store carry a FP gauge with a little adapter for TBI’s that you put in between the fuel line and the fitting on the TBI, so toss this on, it’s quite useful. My FP is 10 psi at idle and 16 psi at WOT (actually a little too rich). "

where did you get the gauge with the fitting? do you have the part number?

I got it at Autozone, but I've also seen it at Pep Boys. There was a thread on it, I'll see if I can find it.
