External FPR Location
Does an external fpr need to be located as close as possible to the TB, or would it make any difference at all?
The reason I ask is, if one were trying to maintain a semi-stock appearance, you wouldn't want an external fpr exposed. This would draw less attention by the smog *****, track techs, etc.

It doesn't matter in 98% of the applications. When you get into minimal cross sections and there flow potential it MIGHT matter. Even then it usually doesn't. Put it anywhere so long as the injectors are seeing pressure and fuel will flow.
