LO3 in the 13's
Is anyone running an LO3 and have it doing 13 seconds? If so what did it take to get it there?
I have a 91 305 tbi and want to get it in the 13's. Is this possible? I really don't want to go through the hassle of putting in a new motor. I just want a daily driver that is relativly quick and can beat some riceburners.
Plans for my LO3:
-Ultimate TBI Mods
-Custom Chip
-Hedders, High Flow Cat, 3 Inch after Cat System
-Aluminum Drive Shaft
-3.42 Gears
-Edlebrock Performer Intake manifold
-Edlebrock Performer Cam and Lifters
-Underdrive Pulleys and Bypassed smog pump
-And I'll also shed a couple hundred pounds
I also have a Be Cool Radiator, and Edlebrock water pump. Which has no doubt made my car faster just by keeping cooler.
Will this be enough to get me into the 13's? or will I have to Port the heads, or possibly replace them, which I have no Idea how to do.

I want to get it there with out nitros, and where could you get a nitros setup for a 305 tbi anyways. The one's I see are always for tpi or carb 305's.
What Cam would you suggest? And What's wrong with the edlebrock performer?

Well as far as the cam goes I here it is not much bigger than stock plus it's not a roller cam. There are alot of people using lt1 cams that have said it's a good upgrade and a used one is cheap. Now if you use a Performer carb intake and a tbi adapter plate you could use a nitrous kit for a carb setup. Or maybe make one out of the tbi adapter plate. Shouldn't be to hard to plumb one for a little juice.

Getting into the 13's with a 305 TBI is hard but can be done. It takes a lot of $$. There are a lot of weak links on these cars but the most important thing is tuning. One thing leads to another on these cars. You make more power than you need more fuel. You get more fuel now your TBI unit cannot keep up with your heads and cam. So you get a larger TBI unit. Now you need traction and a POSI unit. Lots of guys have heads and cammed LO3's but suffer from poor tunes which keep them in the 14's. The same money spent on a 350 will take you much much farther.
