TBI 350 transplant running too rich
Hey guys, I hope this isn't a redundant post. I have an '89 Formula with a transplanted TBI 350 in it. I'm not sure if its the stock ecu or chip. The car is running extremely rich, when I hooked it up to snap on's scanner, the only codes being thrown were "intake air temp too cold" due to the sensor just laying on top of the manifold, and no VSS signal, due to my original T-5 being out to the trans shop and a '84 t-5 with the wrong VSS in it in the car. The car used to have *****, it would roast the tires, felt as quick as a 305tpi car. Now it chugs, it runs rich, and doesn't have enough power to spin a tire in the rain. I don't know what is done to this car, or where to start to get it back to running the way it used to. Also noticed is this: When I disconect the MAP sensor, the car runs like crap till the check engine light comes one, after that the car feels 75% better but still not like it used to. Any idea's guys? Thanks in advance,
Colin

Disconnecting the map is a no-no. That forces the ecm to revert to a pseuto-map constructed using the tps and rpms. How much vacuum does it pull at idle. Poor vacuum for whatever reasons will cause lots of problems with a SD system. Thats one of the first things Id check.
