How much more power would this give me?

I was looking at a hyd roller retro fit kit from comp.

CAM CL11-412-8
485/485 266/276 HYDRAULIC ROLLER-For TBI 454 with stock computer.

Should make a nice difference? Or should I stop being a Pansy, learn how to make my own chips and get something a little bigger

Fairly stock. Open element, dual 2 1/2s, msd coil, running the 7747.

Plans for edel intake probably at the same time as the cam and eventually heads(dart aluminum maybe). This has to pass smog in cali also

what is this going in?

that cam is a big-block cam, if you have f-car, you are going to need a smallblock cam.

if its going in a truck, it depends on what you are looking for, a cam with those specs is going to give a bit of an upgrade, and you will keep the torque up. as you go bigger you are going to be moving the powerband up higher.

Its going in a blazer with BB. Plenty of low end as she is but is worthless over 2200rpm. I would like something to pull strong through 4500 if the bottom end can handle it. I can live with replacing top end stuff since I gotta go through most of it to replace the cam anyways. I dont wan to have to adjust valve lash all day either.

Is the lash adjustment the same for hyd rollers as the standard hyd. lifters. Thanks for the replies.

yes with any hydrolic lifter, you don't have to constantly reset lash, the plunger does that for you. since its in a truck, i would suggest not camming it up to much, that one, or maybe one step higher should be good for you. the more aggressive lobe shape, a little more duration and more lift will wake it up, but not kill you down low.

So would it be resonable to expect 40hp more and a strong pull through 3200rpm from that cam?
