knock sensor question

its been a while since ive been here. anyways, ive dropped in a new motor and had a problem with the knock sensor. its been replaced and the wires were checked. after driving a while, the engine light activates and there is a loss of power. the codes read the knock sensor. its tightened to specifications? any idea?

I would trace the wire that ataches to it and make sur ethat it isn't cracked or split in any location. The wire may be damaged somewhere in your engine bay and causing it to malfunction.

Code 43? Two things can cause that: run away knock or no knock. The no knock is because the ECM tries to force knock as a test. If it can't get knock then it sets a code. Either failure has a bunch of timing to be pulled as a preventive measure.

There's a bunch of info on this. Try this first: search button upper right of screen, for auther put in RBob, for keywords put in 'code AND knock', then select TBI as the board.

Read through it and when you have questions post back here (best fix is the code43 patch).

RBob.
