Help needed, 300+ HP motor to replace stock 305

Funds are now available to build/buy me motor. Would like to keep the TBI setup because of its simplicity. About my car, I have a 1992 RS w/305, Auto, and open rear. Have the following already on the car or on the shelf, open air element, sub frame connectors, Borla exhaust, SLP 1 5/8 headers w/ y pipe, 3” mandrel bent pipe from cat to muffler, Catco cat, Eibach rear spring, KYB strut /shock, Steering bar (wonder bar), and energy suspension hyper kit. Items on/will order; Rear lower control arm w/ relocation lower control arm bracket, adjustable panhard bar, Griffin radiator, electric exhaust cut out, dual fan setup, C4 brake upgrade and strut bar. Future upgrade within a 1 year; t56 tranny. What I am looking for, a 350 or 383-stroker motor with 300-400hp. Would prefer a 1-piece rear main seal and a roller block. Willing to upgrade to a 454 TBI to feed the motor. For those who already have a motor with the HP I am looking for, please post your setup. Open to all for advice/input.

Well you have a great start with your current mods and they can deffinately support your new found power rout that you choose. I would go with the GM crate 330ho. It comes with vortec heads and a pretty decent cam. it is a roller set-up and you can stick your TBI right on. You will need a vortec intake but that is just a little extra $$. You are going to find that supporting lots of power becomes hard to do when you are faced with a 2bbl set-up. That is why i suggest this motor. Jprevost has it and he has run low 13's all day with TBI on top. I would buy the motor, go with a 2" TBI (either a holley 670 or 454) and tune the heck out of it. You should spend most of your effort on tuning so that you can enjoy whatever combo you go with. Low 13's may not be fast enough for you, but it is a great feat for any TBI system.

Look up "r90camarors" he has a nicely built 383 setup with a T56 just like you're planning. His engine is running really well, do a search for him and check out his sig.

SC, thanks for the reply and BY, I emailed him and waiting for a reply. I have been looking on Ebay and local shops around San Diego that can build me a motor. I saw this add for a stroker motor on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33615
The HP is way more than I am looking for but the same seller is also selling a 383 short block. I was wondering if I could use Vortec heads/ manifold on this setup.
