350 crate motor and truck ecm
im wanting to put the 350/330 hp motor in my car, but dont know much about chip burning, and ive read a few things about people taking the ecm from 350 tbi trucks and the cop cars, how hard is it to switch out the ecm and what all is involved with it. Also if its the route i go, will i still have to have it tuned or will i pretty much be able to put it in and go from there.
Thanks in advance

What year is your car? '89 and up have the '8746 which will accept the ANLU bin, which is for an '8746. Itll need tuning but it is better then the stock one. I can actually get my engine to start on it w/o stalling like the stock '8063 calibration did. Still runs like crap, though.

Well, if you want, you can download the ANLU binary from Craig Moates' site. On the DIY Prom board there is a link to his ftp. All you need to to is find someone to burn it to a chip, or buy the hardware to do it yourself, which is a worthwile investment.

i can take the stuff from his site and get it burnt to a chip, and everything should be good from there, im kinda lost on the whole tunining issue

Youll have the cop car chip for your computer. Whether it will be close enough or not remains to be seen. If its not then youll need to change some things in the calibration of the ecm, or just deal with it. Problem with dealing with it is itll cost gas, drivability, and power.

No, you ahve an 8746 so itll work fine. Any bin meant for an '8746 will work for your computer.
