LT1 cam

im sure this has been asked a lot, but i heard that the LT1 cam is a good cheap mod, i was wondering does it work ok w/ a TBI? u dont have to change the torque converter right? and how noticeable of a power gain is there? any one have it dynoed after? and finally any suggestions on where to buy one for cheap? anything other tips or anything would help! i need to take the car to college which is 3 hours away but i wanted to change the cam so i figured the LT1 cam is mild enough and not kill my gas mileage.

You won't benifit from a cam change unless you have a low restriction exhaust. The stock LO3 exhaust manifolds are to restrictive. We're talking headers and 3" exhaust . The LT1 cam will not kill your gas mileage, infact if you tuned it correctly it would probably be about the same.
