Using Winaldl with TBI

I am having trouble getting Winaldl to work on my 91 RS. Am i supposed to put a resistor between pin a and b to establish a link?

Well I don't have a specific answer to your question, but one thing that I did that was wrong was I had the grounding wire in the "E" pin. The ground goes in the "A". Took me about an hour to figure our I had it wrong. Could not figure out why it would not work.

So make sure your ground is in the "A" pin and give it a try.

Good luck.

I have alreay tried that, You have a 91 RS right? Do you have to put a resistor between the 2 pins?

Did you build your cable like the diagram on the winaldl site?

If you have the switching transister wired right it should work with out the resister between the two pins, no problem.

try re-building the cable. Mine was pretty bad the first time i put it together. Maybe you fried some of the internals on a resistor or transistor when you touched a soldering iron to it.

Try the 10K resistor. My 8746 will log without it for some reason, but it's worth a try IMO.

Both of the f-body tbi ecms transmit all teh time. MAke sure that your computer is set for the proper com port and that the baud rate is 2400 so the signal meshes.

Looking at the transistor from the wire end the base is in the middle on top, emitter is on bottm right and the collector is on the bottom left. If you look at the diagram you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm not saying that you're as stupid as me, but I hastily included Resistor 4 when I did it the first time. It won't work if you use R4. Also, here's my thread that has a detailed picture of my cable.

Does my ALDL cable look right?

BTW, I have exactly the same car as you so it should work.
