Fuel Pump/Pressure Issues

Hi everybody, trying to keep this short....my fuel pump went out on my 89 Trans Am lO3, didnt feel like replacing in-tank pump so bought a carter in-line which umm is capable of pushing well 90PSI . Didnt test it yet for sure, but the car has been "loading up" since the install. She loads up at idle and stumbles at heavy throttle. Possibility of the pump overpowering the stock regulator? And what exactly are my options? I hate to have to buy another pump with lower pressure, this one was $105.00. I spent enough money on this car this weekend. Thanks Guys!

You should just stick with a stock replacment inline pump. I know it is a pain but it is the correct way to do it. Anywhoo, most likely your regulator and return lines cannot hld back that kind of pressure. That is really overkill on the stock system.

You could always try dual regulators if it makes it any easier/cheaper for you (I dunno what they cost)
