no power to fuel pump??HELP??

I just put in a new 350 motor with the stock 305 tbi and all. Got everything hooked up but when I turne it over, no fuel is coming out of the injectors. No whine from the fuel pump ever. No power even getting to the relay. Checked all the fueses in my fues box, all were good. I need to know where to check and if anyone could get me some pictures or a wiring diagram or something, that would be nice. Been driving a 4 cylinder jeep comanche for the last year and ready for my baby to be on the road. Any help is apreciated.

Do you have a 350 ESC module? And you are positive that the battery is hooked up and your relays are not shot.

We checked the relay with a multimeter and it was okay. I dont see why having a 350 esc module would cause it not to get power to the relay. I have three connectors in the engine bay that I cant find anywhere for and dont know what they are too. One is on the driver side front near the black canister and is red with I think 3 prongs. The next ones are near the firewall with one of the being white with 4 prongs going like this OO
OO

I took some pics of them lemme see if I can figure out how to get them on the computer.

sorry, 91 camaro rs. I checked the vats fuse and all my fuses are fine. I didnt know there was a fuse in the engine bay for my fuel pump. I just thought there was a relay and then the fuse under the dash. My dad wants me to get it running for right now but right after I graduate from High school (which is in 3 weeks) I am putting it up on my girlfriends dads lift and putting a fuel cell along with my holly blue line pump. I putting all this in for the 406 Im building. But I would like to get it running as is for right now. Sorry but it is a 91 RS original 305 tbi.

bringing back from the dead

Okay here is an update. I AM IN THE SAME PLACE I WAS A MONTH AGO. I graduated from high school and havent had very much time to work on the car but now that I have time Im ready for the damn thig to run. I am not getting power to the relay at all. The relay is good but Im not getting any power to it. I Have the whole car stripped except for the running gear and electrical. I am turning this car into a strip only drag car but I am going to keep tbi on it for right now just so I can break in this engine. I cant make any more progress on this car until I can get it broken in. So someone please help me with this. Agan I am not getting power to the fuel pump relay.
Thanks HIP HOP

There is no fuse for the fuel pump under the dash, it is located in the engine bay near the battery. That is what sends power to the fuel pump relay.

so you have no power to ANY leads on the relay? have you checked your oil pressure sender? you should in theory have 12v going to at least 1 lead on the relay. if you are not getting power to any of the relay, you need to follow your wires back for the 12v lead, not just the switch leads.

okay I appreciate the quick replies. I replaced the oil pressure switch/sender when I put the new engine in. I think it might leak a tiny lil bit but dont know. I have it hooked up fine and all. So tell me. Does the power go from the battery to the oil pressure sender then to the relay then to the pump or what? Im about to go out and play with it again. SO on my 91 the fuse is near the battery? is it a fusible link? thanks for your help. HIP HOP

sorry, i'm at work, no wiring diagrams.

but a quick check is to key on, then with a DVOM check check the 12v lead on the relay, it should have 12v. then check the lead for the switching side of the relay. also check the lead on the oil pressure sender. if ALL of those apear ok, check the ground on your relay, and also try a diffrent relay (i grab relays and just toss them in other places, your fan relay should work.

That fuse in the engine compartment is right next to the battery. It is located in a little black box shaped thing and is located on the fender between your battery and coolant overflow tank. It should be a 20 amp fuse.

Hello lonniep01,

I don't know the circumstances of the problem with your fuel pump. However the wires for the coil are on a different wiring circuit than the fuel pump circuit and are not related in any way. To test this to be sure, I disconnected the connectors from the ignition coil and turned the key, The fuel pump came on and pressurized as advertised.
