305 dead....

been sitting all winter with 5k mile oil in it... not good, didnt winterize. drove it today, bottom end noise.... got home...smoke under the hood right as i pulled it back into the garage... popped it... antifreeze... maybe some oil up sprayed between the engine and radiator... but i see a good sized ball bearing laying down next to the power steering pump... not where 1 ball bearing usually sits owell... guess it was time... ill update later as to what it really is

could be just a lower radiator hose, or something like that.... as for the bearing. who knows

later... gona go enjoy the truck now....

porsche is on jack stands... waiting for a new master cylinder.

gotta love having 3. usually you hope at least 1 is running

At least the water pump is easy to get at on these cars. A month ago I changed my wifes pump on her front wheel drive Buick. Only took me eight hours.

You wouldn't beleive what happend to my girl friends car. She just go her new motor put in and her dad was driving it. He got in it for the first time ever and the wate pump shaft snapped. the mechanical fan went through the radiator and tore up the fan shroud and scared the living crap out of all of us. Though for sure we were gonna find the crank wedged in the frame. Funny thing was the water pump still turned fine the shaft broke right outside the front bearing.

it ran but i could have sworn i had a hole in the bottom of my oil pan with one piston missing or two... thats how bad it sounded. im just lucky it blew out after driving for 35 minutes... it went right as i pulled into my parking lot at my apt. i backed it into the garage right away knowing it was going to leak for a while.

got it all fixed today... replaced the old pump with a new victor series that has been sitting inthe garage for a while... waiting to go on my 355. i had to grind down my ac bracket becaus it had lip on it that wouldnt let the wp line up right on the passenger side.

as for not posting. well, i havent driven this car in near 8 months. with the truck and the porsche i kept busy. the truck was all winter driven... then it got warm enough to pull out the little 356 and I havent really had a drive to drive the camaro. till i wanted some beats, and ac.
