need help with 91 w/305TBI
We have recently purchased a 91 Camaro(117,000) AT 305 TBI. We replaced all filters(including fuel) and PCV. All guages are registering good.
Since day one we have expierenced the following problems:
A. High idle(1200-1400)
B. Occasionally when put in gear she stalls
C. Sluggish at times from a dead stop
D. When accerlated will hesitate, feel choppy or jerky at
times. Bottom line is power just feels robbed somewhere.
Just took her in to a qualified shop and had it hooked up to a diagnostic machine. They did the following:
1. Adjusted idle and timing to specs.
2. Checked vacume(ok)
3. Checked injectors(ok)
4. No codes came up
The car still has the problem in above B, C & D. Oddly enough I can start the car three times in a row and get slightly different RPM readings at idle.
Any suggestions as to what to look for or try next?
Thanks, Randy

Have you checked the feed line fuel pressure. Your pump could be heading south. I would also double check the timing. I have seen certified GM dealerships not unplug the EST while timing these cars.
By the way, welcome to the boards!

B, C, and D sounds like a problem I had. Do you know if the shop adjusted the TV/detent cable at all? If not, adjust it. I had the same problems that you did, including the high idle (I still haven't fixed that yet). If you don't know how to adjust the TV cable, just ask and I'll post how to.
And, like Shifty said, double check the timing and see if you can check the fuel pressure.
