upcoming mods

so i got quite a bit of money for graduation and i just ordered my shift kit w/ my summitt gift certificate but i have 90 dollars left on that. my dad and i decided that with some of my cash im going to be ordering an eibach prokit (any comments on that would be great) im not going to order KYBs yet, i hopefully will be doing the LT1 cam swap and a stage 2 from TBI chips. my dad brought up a good point about ordering the cam off ebay, unless u take it to a shop and have them inspect it for flat spots or anything theres no gurantee that you're getting a good cam and so his idea is to order one direct from GM, any ideas on how much more that will be? i have a feeling its gonna be pricey and if its too pricey then what is a similar cam from crane or comp that i can still use the stock heads and torque converter. but my suspension is a definate so im happy about that. anymore ideas would be great, also i looked on summitt and found a throttle enhancer kit for my car, does that help at all? its 89 bucks and it just plugs into my throttle positioning sensor, or is it just a crock? thanks again, oh either exhaust piping or a cut out is coming too i think

i would do the cam and heads together? seems like they are hand in hand. exhaust too if not first mod. if you do all three not sure if a "ordered" chip will be good enough for you. will they reburn if corrections needed? to do that you need to send them datalogs. throttle enhancer? hmmmm. save the $$$ for other stuff. oh $$$ to be saved ordering a summit cam.

Don't buy into the TPS enhancer stuff. It will make your car think it is WOT faster. But that is only if mashing your foot down isn't fast enough. A truly worthless product. Anywhoo, you should be fine with buying a roller cam off ebay. I have yet to hear any horror stories about one being bad. Plus there are so cheap you don't really lose much money. 90 bucks will limit you as far as heads and cam stuff go. You will need at least 90 just for gaskets and such. I would get a cam off of ebay or look for some used TPI heads. Both can be had for your 90 buck budget. If it were my money I would get chip burning stuff and learn how to do that now before any serious mods go on. A stage 2 chip will not cut it and won't even be close to the chip work you will need with a heads and cam swap. The only way to get it right is by doing it yourself or by having the patience to send it back in 50 times with data logs for it to be right. Do you have hedders yet. You will want a full exhaust first by the way.

seems like there is a market to have someone"burn me a chip". i wonder if a datalog could be had linked to a cell phone where the "burner" can log as you do a test drive and send you a chip a month "club" with steady improvement. kinda like Onstar. i really wonder how many of us are "burning chips" in the USA (1000's?)and how many are not confident to do so( 1,000's X ??). sound too wacky?

You can't go wrong with any of the Eibach kits whether you get the Pro kit of sportlines. However, we cannot discuss it here. Trya few searches on the suspension board. There are tons of threads out there that should help you decide.
