Open Element

Hi,
I am a newb here, so cut me some slack. I have a 1992 Camaro RS and I was wonderig about getting an open element filter for my car.

What brand is the best/cheapest? The only one I have seen is the K&N.

What size fits the TBI 305?

I need it within a week. I am thinking about either Summit racing or Jegs. Opinion?

Someone link me or tell me the exact part I need please. Thank you!

Let me be the first to welcome you to TGO! You will have fun modding your car. Putting on an open element is a great first mod. It is as simple as it is cheap. You can pretty much use any air cleaner that is intedned for carb. The ideal ones are non-drop base units. Check out the "New to TBI" thread for all kinds of info on what makes these cars tick. There is a section on open elements that should keep you reading for a long time. Since this is the most basic question asked about these cars I will shut it down. The reason behind this is to focus you on your search and to keep you from being confused by a bombardment of posts. I will let you do the reading so that you can figure out which is the best one for you. Good luck and be sure to report back if you have a more specific problem or concern. Good luck and happy modding.
I will help you with some links here.
