Help with TBI ECM PROM...

Now that I have my RS modded with all that is listed in my sig...I really need a chip to allow for proper tuning. I do not have the equipment (lap top, etc.) or the time to burn chips myself, so the DIY PROM is out of the question. I want to know, what is the best pre-programmed aftermarket PROM is for my L03???

The one you burn yourself.

Any off the shelf Stage 1 or 2 chip is a stab in the dark with paramaters close to the ones found on your stock bin. Any chip like that can actually make your car run worse. You should at least data log (basically free) and send the info to a reputable burner. Check out www.tbichips.com if you just cannot fathum doing it yourself.

EDIT: You won't find the chip you need off the shelf because every TBI car repsonds differently to mods and subsequently needs different things in the chip. Sorta like snow flakes and finger prints in that no two are the same.

The best chip out there is from GM. It's by far the best starting point .
I'm sorry you can't DIY so here's the sad truth; don't bother with TBI or port injection, just go straight to carb and 60's technology. That way you can't really screw it up let alone waste $$$ on some aftermarket paper weights. The aftermarket chips are a joke, seriously they are all idiots to think they can do better than the engineers at GM. They are however NOT as dumb as the person that buys an aftermarket off the shelf eprom.
HOW MANY F'n TIMES DO WE HAVE TO GO OVER THIS SAME TOPIC? Listen to the guys that aren't trying to rip you off.... PEOPLE LIKE ME and the rest of us on the boards.

truth : i did'nt listen at first . .didnt think I could or wanted to do anything like that, just wanted a pro to do it for me. . .called up the best shop i could find. Three re-burns, $350, and 2 months of stinkin rich fuelin (ALDL logs told that tale) was what I got for not listening . . .

here i am a few months after that with a killer combo, custom DFI, and a whole new way to enjoy my car

OK, I get the point, Hypertech, Jet, and ADS are $100 paper weights. So I guess I should just keep the stock one in there for now. Are all my mods being wasted by the fact I am running the stock chip with them?

the only reason I needed a custom prom is becuase my new setup, an edelbrock 350 custom, heders and all the trimmings, required one.

There was just no way it could run off the stock chip, or even be anywhere close to being legal. My point is. If your car doesnt need it, and runs fine, save you money for something else. (that performer intake, 3" cat, and cat back setup would do alot better if it were breathing through headers)

or like shifty said check out www.tbichips.com
