Fuel Pump ?

Up to what horsepower will the stock fuel pump hold on a LO3 engine. i.e. would i need to install inline/intake pump if i put an intake on?

Not sure if I follow but the stock pump will be fine for most bolt on mods. It doesnt supply much pressure or flow so if your making mods that require lots of extra fuel over whats available stock then the tbi pump has to go.

OK

I was wondering if there is a replacement, in tank pump, that i could find and that i could install now before i make any major mods that won't mess with my stock set up. I'm planning on putting an intake on and an after market throttle body

You can replace your pump with any 3rd gen high flow or multi port pump. Your fuel regulator will keep the pressure where it needs to be and will divert all excess fuel into the return line. Your stock pump is fine until you have a nice set of heads and cam (some are still even fine with this).

Do TPI pumps fit as higher PSI direct replacements for the TBI pumps?
- electrical connectors
- dimensions
- fittings
- volume

My TBI pump is on its last legs and I need a replacement pretty soon.

Thanks!

I can order ACDELCO EP241, TPI Fuel pump for $131 CDN, or I can order Edelbrock 3581 ( I think this will fit ) mpfi fuel pump for $180 CDN. Hard to find walbro pumps here.

I'd like a pump that'll flow enough for about 300HP.

What do you recommend?

Thanks for your help. My daily driver is quickly getting worse. I've decided to go with the Edelbrock 3581 as I can have it tomorrow, so I can make the swap this weekend.

I sure hope I've ordered the right thing.

that doesn't come with a tank gasket or a hookup hose does it?

Hmmm. I think it's just the pump, filter, and harness.

I suppose I should replace those while I'm at it!

Does the hookup hose usually have to be replaced?

the one that was origionaly on mine looked rather weak, and the walbro kit had a new one with nice clamps so I replaced it

FYI. I got my Edelbrock 3581 pump, and it is infact a Walbro Pump. It's a GSS340, 255LPH hi-pressure.
