Stalls when put into gear
I have an 89 camaro, L03. The problem I'm having is it stalls when I put it in gear. I've done a search and have come up with many poss. problems. Timing, cat conv plugged, torque conv lockup, fuel pump, etc. The only thing done recently was an edelbrock cat back (last week). It will idle fine in park but as soon as i put it into gear it will sputter and die. It goes down the road fine, but at a light it has to be put into neutral or it will die.
Any one have any thoughts or suggestions?
I did change plugs, cap, rotor, and wires tonight, but it still does it
Thanks,
Brian

You can tell if its a tcc problem if the car feels like a manual with the clutch still let out when you come to a stop. It could also be another problem that causes the motor to stall out when its under load in gear.

Thanks for the help guys
I changed the fuel filter, and cleaned the IAC as per the post at the top of the board, Still doing the same thing. Can the three things you mentioned (IAC,MAP,TSS) go bad without throwing a code? Maybe I'll just change all three.
My father has a L05 suburban parts truck the IAC and MAP should be the same, right? I'll try swapping them and see if it improves.
Thanks again,
Brian
