code 54

code 54

the car was pulling a 54 so i replaced the relay and it is still pulling a 54 is there anythig that could cause this?

When you replaced the fuel pump relay, did you disconnect the battery and clear the codes? If you didn't, try that first and then take it out for a test drive. If you did disconnect the battery and it came back, try this.

Engine: 305 Lo3
Transmission: 700-R4
Test your fuel pressure also. My Lo3 registered a code 54 when pressure dropped below fact. specs. Out put was 7 lbs. and was stalling and hard to start hot or cold. I installed a new pump, cleared the code and tested at 13 lbs. No more code 54!
