injector fire stops and starts again

I was driveing home and noticed a slight stutter in the acceleration, then that turned into when i would hit the gas, it would rev and die and rev and die. When it died compleatly it started easily and sometimes died and sometimes stays running.

Next I got somewhere where I could pop the hood and I saw that the injectors were cuting out all togather then fireing again... it seemed to be load related since it was not cuting out at idle... when you could get it to idle...

Next I get in the car again and attempt to drive it, the car was fine in reverse but the second you put it in drive to go foreward it died, if it did not die it was a constant chugging of injectors fireing and not fireing. I checked all my wire from my module in the cap since that signals injector fire...

After seeing that the car stayed running in reverse I tried 1st gear and took off... then i drove home in 1st and 2nd and then after a while D and OD and the car then seemed fine all togather... no more chuging.

What gives? What would cause the injectors to stop fireing under load or what ever they were doing. I wiggled all the wires around the module and the coil and the injectors while the car was idleing and could not get the injectors to stop untill i put the car in drive...

The only thing I can think is the ECM or the chip... now that it is cold outside I have noticed the car to be running really lean and with school and all i dont have time to tune... could it be so lean that the ECM dont want to fire the injectors? could my new module be going bad?... past experience with those is all be and dont work or all good and they do, no median there.

Have you checked to make sure that the injectors have a constant +12 volts at the + side? Putting a voltmeter and measuring while the car is having problems would tell you. Maybe even a power dist. problem concerning the fuelpump but thats probably unlikely since they usually just up and die all of a sudden.

A ground problem or dead module could also do it. If the distributer was dropping reference pulses the computer would cut the fuel momentarily. I had this happen and the tach also went crazy when the ign. module would momentarily stop functioning. All that was caused by a burnt wire zapping the dist. itself.

It definatly could be the ecm as well. That cant be ruled out but its probably not as likely as some other problems.
