670 tbi update

well i havent posted in a while... been buisy with the kids!
i installed a spreadbore to squarebore 1/2" spacer under my holley 670 tbi so it would smooth the transition to the sqaure bore better and allow it to draw from both holes intead of each side drawing from one hole. well i thought it was pretty good at first but i was having problems at around 3000 + rpm's it was popping and sputtering so i increased the fp to 15 psi and also ran 93 octane with 0-60 octane booster and it was still popping... then i remembered i forgot to check and see if the throttle blades were opening all the way when i pused the gas pedal down.
well it was only opening about 1/3 of the way! after i fixed this it was incredible!!! huge diffrence the only thing is i need to definatly burn some chips becasue it is way too rich at idle! also i was looking at super chevy this weekend on the net and read the danger mouse article on there. they put a holley 900 cfm on it and it made a little less hp and torq than the hp750 holley carb and that was on their danger mouse project. plus i don't think they were set up to run a tbi at optimum performance. i think they just slapped it on there. i don't know if they tried to burn chips or not but i am sure they did not, so they had room to improve but the were not very enthusiastic about the tbi unit.
also would anyone take a guess at how much more the 670 unit would flow with a 1/2" open spacer under it? i am sure there is a mathmatical solution to this but i have no idea were to begin, also how much more can i crank those holley fuel injecters b4 they go static? can i get 20 psi out of them or more??? they are the new holley injectors not the old style.

The max safe operating pressure is listed as just over 100 psi for the injectors themselves. Its unlikely youll get much over 15 if you have a stock pump, and even then it may have problems maintaining that kind of flow. Another thing that may work better then the additional spacer may be to enlarge and smooth the walls of the intake plenum just below the tbi. As long as there isnt too much of the plenum in teh way it really shouldnt hurt the flow much.

well it seems to be working good!!! and i wasted an acura 3.2 tl on the freeway today like a joke!!!!
i pulled away from my lil brothers 97 gt mustang today, he had alumin pulleys, and a chip, he is an idiot sometimes!!! he tried to say stock mustangs like his 97 came with like 280 hp and 370 ftlbs of trq!!!! what a crock i then proceeded to show him numerous websites that showed his mustang stock came with 215 hp and 280 ft lbs of trq! he still didn't buy it!!! oh well
he also has nissan gtr emblems all over his puke stang he said those are ford symbols not nissan!!! they come on the skylines from the factory, so how do you figure they are ford gtr emblems??? i am going to put a ford 5.0 emblem on my fenders!!! and a blue oval on the trunk... heee heee heee

ya i had a friend with a 98 gt stang and the 4.6 I went along thinking he had at least 260hp stock like the newest gt had. I always hesitated to race him. This was back when my olds was all i had. Then one day i found that only 225hp and 280ish torque was all that was offered until 1999. Ahhh the day i meet him again now that i have a very mild 210hp formula. was it seriously only 215hp back then on those stangs? thats pitiful to think that you could go across the street to a chevy dealer and grab an LT1 with 285hp and 300+ lb ft
